Here at Which Shoes we’re obviously big fans of shoes that are comfortable and easy on your feet. The good people behind Fly Flot have a good 25 years of experience in making lovely comfortable shoes. They’ve been very kind in revealing to us the four secrets behind why they are so comfortable.

1. Fly Flot have Anti Shock - The sole used is thick. It’s also made out of a material that can absorb shock. “Shock absorbing is for cars?” I here you ask. Well, when you have this in a piece of footwear it reduces the foot vibrations you get when you walk. The result of this is it reduces any vibrations you get on your backbone when you walk. So aches and pains you might get in your body when you walk are minimised.

2. Fly Flot are Anatomical - The best way to describe this is squishy. What happens when you wear some flyflots is that they stretch out more around your feet. This increases what’s called your standing base and makes it more relaxing and comfortable to stand. It gives you more stability too.

3. Fly Flot are Light and Self Modelling - The soles used in fly flot shoes are very light. They also will shape to fit around your feet. All feet naturally arch. When you buy a normal shoe it will have soles that have an arch to account for this. What Fly Flot have is a sole that is shaped a bit like this, but then it will actual adjust to be more comfortable when you’re wearing them.

4. Fly Flot are Anti Slip - When you’re walking around, either by the beach or in the slightly unpredictable English weather you might encounter different surfaces. You don’t want a pair of sandals that will slip easily. Well, Fly Flot have thought of this too and created anti-slip technology to give you the confidence to walk firmly without worrying about going flying.

A couple of months ago the MET office was predicting a summer full of BBQs. The weather even held up to give 150,000 people a rare and mud free Glastonbury festival. Sadly though, the faithful british summer has returned.

But as well as rain, every cloud also has a silver lining. The unfortunate turn in the weather is a great excuse to start looking for the best new designer tights and designer shoes combo. Here at Which Shoes we’re tipping Marco Tozzi as the best designer to look at to line yourself up for the autumn and winter period. You can go daring and sexy and purple, or you can go more classic with black. There are a host of other colours too. These are perfect with designer tights like the aristoc range or pretty polly range.

Here at Which Shoes we like to have a good old rummage around the internet for the latest styles and trends. Our latest find is the Dr Martens Flower boot which in our opinion is the perfect purchase for a festival. It has the endurance and protection of a welly. Because it’s a boot, it won’t rub after your first 10 minutes of moshing to your favourite band (a common problem with wearing welly boots). Click here to check out more pictures of this trendy boot from DM.

I’m not complaining, but here are the facts of my situation. 2 years ago I had an operation on both my feet. In addition I’ve always worn shoes the largest size shoes that I can buy in shops. Increasingly my feet are swelling up so I’ve had to look for shoes that are either bigger than normal or specifically wide fitting. It turns out the internet is a great vehicle to do this. Firstly because you don’t have to deal with the scowl of a shop assistant as you keep on telling them each pair of shoes is too small. Secondly the internet is full of specific retailers that stock shoes specifically for people with big or wide feet. And thirdly, they will all accept returns so if there are any problems or you don’t like the style you can simply pop them back in the post. Here are some tips on where to look:

Walktall sell big sized shoes from size 12 up to size 17. They stock this in a massive range of brands from smart work shoes through to Converse. For all their shoes they also specifiy if they are wide fitting. So if you are trying to find extra width they are a perfect place to look. Click here to look at the Walktall shoe section.

Cosyfeet are a brand that specialise in making spacious, wide and soft fitting shoes. They are a very airy shoe and most comfortable. They make shoes for men and women, and make shoes, slippers and sandals. If you’ve never heard of them it’s worth taking a look because alot of people swear by how comfortable these are. Click here to go to the Cosyfeet website.

Another shoe brand that is popular amongst us people with wide feet is Pavers. They have a standard range but they also have comfort and wide fit collections. Again they do styles for men and women, shoes to sandals. They are sold through shoe shop and there’s a great range to choose from. They normally have quite a few good deals on too. Click here to browse through the Men’s section, and here to browse through the Women’s section.

Maybe it’s the run of good weather we’re having this year, or maybe it’s Cloggs getting overly excited about Murray at Wimbledon, or maybe it’s just a good old fashioned offer with no catches. Whatever the reason, they’ve decided to do a 3 for 2 on all their footwear until July 12th. Simply put in code SHJ2 when you get to the online checkout to redeem the offer. If you think you need a couple pairs of new shoes, this could be a great way of getting some shoes for your holidays too. Also no need to slog around town hunting for them when you can be lounging around in a park, sipping pimms, watching Wimbledon.
